May 4-6 - Back to Camping: Rangers in Training Weekend

Jellystone graphicThe winter has finally come to an end, and we are excited to welcome back our old friends and to meet new camping friends. Join us this weekend to meet our 2012 Rec Rangers. They will be in training and have a few planned activities, such as crafts, bingo and a Hey! Hey! Ride with Ranger Smith. There are also many activities to enjoy on your own, such as nature hikes, mini golf and bon fires.

May 5 - Volunteer Your Time at Dorothy Carnes Park

The Jefferson County Parks Department will be working with volunteers at Dorothy Carnes Park in an effort to control invasive species in the park's oak woodlands. The public is invited to help in this effort.

This year's plan will focus attention on hand-pulling and spraying the garlic mustard that continue to plague the oak woodland to the south of the park shelter.

Volunteers are needed from 8:30am-12pm.
