April 27, 2011 - Dancing Wheels

This phenomenal dance company incorporates dancers both with wheels and without, which means professional stand-up and sit-down (wheelchair) dancers. Dancing Wheels, the founding premier physically integrated dance company, performs, teaches and inspires people of all abilities throughout the world. The 12 member dance ensemble features an extensive body of works ranging from contemporary to classical that are physically inclusive and dramatically unique. Some of the greatest choreographers of today have created pieces for this ensemble and their work is an inspiration.

This 24 mile race will travel from the UW-Whitewater campus and work its way through the surrounding area. The start/finish line is near the intersection of Prairie Street and Schwager Drive. The flat course is challenging, but it's a great opportunity for beginners. This is a WISport series event and is an open event.

Beginning at 2pm, children 10 and under are invited to bring a basket and enjoy a traditional Easter egg hunt. Candy-filled eggs and prizes are awaiting the kids. The "hunt" is separated by age categories: ages 1-3; ages 4-7; and ages 8-10. Enter your child's name into a drawing for one of ten large Easter Baskets filled with goodies.

Bowl For Kids' Sake is an annual event held by Big Brothers Big Sisters to raise awareness and funds for the local youth mentoring programs. Individuals are encouraged to form teams of 5 (friends, co-workers, family, community members) to raise pledges to support the on-going mission to match area youth with adult volunteer mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters will throw you a 'thank you' party on April 9th in appreciation of your hard work and dedication of supporting their mentoring programs!
