April 9, 2011 - Bowl For Kids' Sake benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters

Bowl For Kids' Sake is an annual event held by Big Brothers Big Sisters to raise awareness and funds for the local youth mentoring programs. Individuals are encouraged to form teams of 5 (friends, co-workers, family, community members) to raise pledges to support the on-going mission to match area youth with adult volunteer mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters will throw you a 'thank you' party on April 9th in appreciation of your hard work and dedication of supporting their mentoring programs!

Each bowler is encouraged to ask 10 friends for a $10 pledge or bring a $100 pledge goal. Prizes are available for reaching and exceeding this personal goal. Artist Pam Talsky demonstrates basket weaving and includes some hands-on activities. Ms. Talsky wove two of the baskets on exhibit in the museum's new Mysteries of the Mounds Gallery. Families and students encouraged to attend. Free admission.

CV Hair Company is hosting their second annual 5K Fun Run/Walk for Water on Sunday, April 10 at 11am.
