July 12 - August 12, 2012 - THE ROCK & THE RABBI

Rock and the RabbiThe story of a fisherman and a teacher was never told like this. For those who have seen THE WITNESSES, DAVID, and THE CHILD here is a chance to see the show that started it all. Back by popular demand, The Fireside is proud to present THE ROCK AND THE RABBI. Original contemporary music sets the stage as Simon, a simple fisherman, draws audiences of all ages into his story. See how he becomes Peter, the "Rock" and begins his journey with Jesus, the "Rabbi" from the Sea of Galilee, to the agony of the cross, to the Miracle of the Ages. July 12, 2012 - Whitewater Family Fun Night- Big Rig Gig

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite all ages to this year's Big Rig Gig & Big Bounce at the Cravath Lakefront Park on Thursday, July 12th starting at 5:30pm. From 5:30pm- 7:00pm, the park will be filled with snowplows, loaders, dump trucks, and hard hat decorating stations. Bouncy houses will available 5:30pm-8:00pm for endless free jumping.

We will enjoy a three day long Country Pride event starting on Friday and ending late Sunday. This weekend is filled with music on both Saturday and Sunday evenings, eating contests, red/white/blue decorating contests, firecracker bingo, bag toss, plus youth and adult horseshoe tournaments. We have so much planned we couldn't fit everything into two days. Plan to stay through the week because our daylong activities will continue through July 4th!

June 30, 2012 - Bike & Hike With the Artists

Bike & Hike With the Artists along the Glacial Drumlin Trail/Glacial Heritage Area (GHA) south of Lake Mills. Travel along the trail through Zeloski Marsh, Korth Park and east through town to the bridge over the Crawfish River. Stop and interact with the painters, sculptors and writers who will be working along the trail. Some food and drink will be sold but this is a free event to highlight the natural beauty of the Glacial Heritage Area.

This event involves 10-12 artists from the Arts Alliance of Greater Lake Mills, and they will be set up at stations along the Glacial Drumlin Trail, from the bridge over the Crawfish River near Aztalan State Park, to the old train depot in London. The artists will be engaged in artistic creation inspired by the GHA - painting, wood working, sculpting, etc. - and hikers/bikers along the trail will have the opportunity to stop and interact with them as well as learn about the GHA.
